February 14th is the most celebrated day in the Philippines next to Christmas! There’s no doubt that the roads and malls are busier when it’s Valentine’s day. Even my facebook wall is flooded with photos of different kinds of flowers, chocolates and couples going on a date. Love was really in the air!
While most of the couples are out for some quality time at the restos and malls, staycation at hotels or watching movies at their favorite movie houses, my husband and I spent half of the day doing the laundry and cleaning the house. After doing the chores, we’ve decided to reward ourselves with a relaxing 1-hour whole body swedish massage at Nuat Thai in Doña Soledad Ave., Parañaque. It was I who suggested that we go for a spa date because I think we deserve to be pampered after all the daily stress of weekday working and commuting.
Since v-day is meant for us as couple, we left Gabriel with my in-laws for awhile. (We’re sorry baby… 🙁 I promise that we’ll spend the next v-day’s celebration with you once you’re already walking! 🙂 ) Good thing that the place is just near our home so we won’t be away for a long time. ~ I have alse written a review of our Nuat Thai Foot and Body Massage Experience.
We dine at Steak 101 afterwards. Steak 101 is a restobar along Doña Soledad Ave. I must really say that it didn’t disappoint me! I’m even surprised that they served us some impressive steak, burger and pasta for a cheaper price. My husband have been eyeing the place since we moved in to our home but I’ve always been hesitant because I always end up unsatisfied when we try steaks from other restaurants. When we wanted some steak, our to-go place is Racks! But when we tried Steak 101 last night, it was worth it!!! The steaks can definitely compete with the ones in Racks. It has the same tendereness and juiciness. The only thing missing are probably the Racks’ signature sauces. We also loved their Red Lambo pasta that is labeled with “Must Try” on their menu. My husband ordered burger with fries which is also surprisingly BIG! The patty is really thick and tasty. We left the place feeling full and satisfied, and guilty! So we walked our way to the tricycle terminal to ease the guilt we felt from indulging on steak, pasta and burger (what diet!!) hahaha! We ended the day with hubby getting his haircut done while I also pamper myself (yet again) by getting my mani-pedi done at Nails.Glow in Moonwalk, Parañaque before heading home.
It was such a relaxing Valentine’s day for the both of us! I’d rather have it this way than being stuck in traffic somewhere else. We’re really thankful to the Lord God for giving us some spare quality “US” time. Those moments are something I personally treasure because we rarely have time to ourselves since I got pregnant. Though we’re both at our happiest when we’re with our little son, I still believe that we should also have time spent with each other alone. 🙂
How about you? How did your Valentine’s day went along?
